Jamie Sneddon

Years in prison:
0.83
Year of crime:
1999
Year conviction was overturned:
2009

Jamie Sneddon was convicted of theft and unlawful wounding. Sneddon and his brother were in an altercation with former magistrate Ian James over a christmas wreathe which Sneddon admitted was removed from James’s front door. James was injured with a glass, and claimed that Sneddon produced a stick and threatened him with it. Sneddon’s conviction was overturned on the basis that James admitted that this was a lie and that he was the one who introduced the stick and provoked the violence (Sneddon managed to get him to admit this and taped the confession). James was jailed for perjury in 2007.
