Christopher Hagans was convicted of robbery, conspiracy to rob, and unlawful possession of a firearm. At trial the main evidence came from a supergrass, other evidence of oral confessions and incriminating remarks reported by police officers. On appeal, the evidence of both the police and the supergrass was discredited based on findings of corruption against the police force. The credibility of the investigation was undermined and the conviction was quashed.
