Julie Ferris

Year conviction was overturned:
2003

Julie Ferris was convicted of the murder of her two children. The prosecution relied on expert testimony of a now discredited witness (Sir Roy Meadow) who said that there were “clear markers” that the children had been deliberately choked by their mother. On appeal, evidence suggested the babies could have died of a rare form of epilepsy and the conviction was quashed.
