Ian Faulder

Years in prison:
2.5
Year of crime:
1998
Year conviction was overturned:
2005

Ian Faulder was convicted of inflicting GBH after a baby he cared for was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries. He said injuries to the baby were accidental and occurred during a fall. Evidence from three experts suggested that Foulder must have shaken the baby and thrown him to the floor. On appeal new evidence discredited this account and the conviction was ruled to be unsafe.
